Xbox 360 resell help

I have decided to sell my Xbox 360 slim 320GB, and i have deleted everything on the Hard Drive storage. But why does it still say i have 293GB free even though i have cleared everything on the system. Is there a way to completely wipe the console clean?

System use and Xbox OS nothing to worry about it's the same with PC's. You can reformat the hard drive to be sure this will delete everything on the Hard Drive.

The HDD is marketed as 320,000,000,000 bytes, but the console (and computers) divide by 1,024 instead of 1,000. So the formatted capacity of the "320 GB" drive is only 298 GB, and the system reserves a few GB that you can't use.
