    xbox 360 red light error


    When I turn on my console, the center light turns green.

    the xbox starts, however it is stopped for a few minutes on the "xbox 360" screen.

    after these minutes, the console starts and a text box appears that reads "there is an update needed".

    when you click on the boot to start the update, the console turns red.

    after searching the internet, i figured out how to see the red light error code, and i got error 1010 = hd error

    the problem is i use my hd for years and it never happened.

    (I never removed the internal hd)

    until yesterday it was working.

    I don't know what else to do

    Yellow lights of death?

    It will be green when the console is powered. Yellow is standby. Red is fault. Yellow with console powered usually will have the console display red error lights. Green is good to have, but still can have red error lights displayed if there is such an error.
    Now red, red usually means a short or electrical problem like over or under voltage. Red on an Xbox whether the ring of light or psu is bad news.
