XBox 360 - recycling a bricked console

My XBox 360 has been on the shelf for quite a while. Finally getting around to recycling it, however when I booted it up, I got the three red lights. I guess I can't wipe my personal information myself. Any recommendations on how I can safely recycle the console?

unfortunately we are not authorized for advice regarding self-repair, we are not microsoft technicians, and only they are authorized to do so, unfortunately not even support can help, mainly because the xbox 360 has not been manufactured for many years, and there is a lack of spare parts in the market.

You should pull any hard drives out of the system. Anything contained in the flash is encrypted and I wouldn't worry about it.

You can just take it to any computer recycler I would assume. Google it in your city and I'm sure one will come up

Yes. Power bricks are forward-compatible. The oldest bricks can be used to power the final generation of original 360 console.

360 S uses a new power brick design. It's not directly backwards compatible with original 360 systems.
