    Xbox 360 reboots when tv input is changed


    I've been having this problem for a while and thought I'd try to get help for it again. While playing on the xbox 360, if I accidently change the input on the tv it causes my xbox 360 to reboot. It didn't do this when we first bought it, but after about
    a year it started happening. Any ideals on how to fix this issue?

    Update - Tried the power plug out for a minute, then full reboot

    Also unplugged TV (Xbox 360) input into the console and changed start up setting to Energy Saving

    Fifa now booted up

    This is a problem I guess everyone is having.... hard reboot fixes it for 2 cycles... The it happens again... Very annoying. Changed HDMI and inputs on TV.

    This would appear to be an issue with your TV. Your Xbox 360 reboots when it detects any change in output hardware. This is the same reason why your system does not boot if it does not detect anything to output to (such as your TV being turned off). When
    switching inputs, some TVs, especially as they age, have changes in voltage to certain parts of the circuitry. This can include HDMI ports. As the voltage drops, your 360 resets because it no longer sees your TV as being a viable output. When the input change
    is complete, the charge returns, and your Xbox sees it as a TV. Again, nothing you can really do. You can try to turn display discovery off in video settings to see if that helps. (Xbox's implementation of DD is atrocious anyway)

    @Zacabeb, Yes it reboots if I change my input temporarily are there anyway to stop it from resetting or do I just have to deal with it and not change my input when I am using my Xbox 360?

    I understand that there are some devices etc. That will need t he XBox to restart. But if there is a way to make the XBox not do a restart just because the TV Input changes that would be appreciated.

    My fiance has something similar happen with his HD LED TV.

    I can't remember the technical terms but it's basically something to do with the Xbox wanting a dedicated connection.

    If my fiance turns on his Xbox first before his TV (or before changing inputs to his Xbox 360) his console lingers in a state of limbo, and when he selects the right connection it continues with the start-up logo.

    Although if what you're saying is that you play on your Xbox, then change the input to something else and it actually reboots the Xbox then I am not sure. It sounds silly but just double check that both ends are securely connected and are not loose as I
    believe the Xbox certainly doesn't like the cable taken out from the console end and I think it reboots in that instance.
