XBOX 360 Rebooting and Power

I have an XBOX 360 S, 250 GB model. I have probably played less than 1000 hours on it. Just the other day, my kids were playing when the console restarted. I didn't think much of it and the kids were done anyway.

A few days ago, I decided to stream a movie through the XBOX and I experienced the same thing after about 30 minutes. Then, it happened again after about 5 minutes, and then it would simply continue to start, show the splash screen for a few seconds and
then restart again. It never completely powered off, just restarted.

I bought a new power supply as everyone seemed to point at that as a cause, however, this did not fix the problem. I also noticed that the power button and eject button no longer work. I'm not sure when they started not working, as I always use the controller
to power on the console and eject disks.

How do u reboot an xbox 360 because my xbox is wired up and is receving power but when i press the power button i hear the button noise but then nothing

A couple quick things to try would be to disconnect the Xbox 360 from power for about 30 seconds, plug it back in, and power it back up. Also rebooting any networking equipment you have. This very often will resolve issues like this.

 

Hey Golfnut!

You can try reinstalling the latest update to your console. Navigate to your Xbox 360 storage settings and then pressing the following button combo:

LB, RB, X, LB, RB, X

That should reinstall your current version and you can see if that helps with your console restarting.
