Xbox 360 putting scratches on my disk???

Hi,

last week, I was playing GTA5 and it had froze. I thought it was nothing and restart the game, it happened again but at the loading screen. The game just stop working it wouldn't go into online mode or story mode. So then the next day I tried it again.....still
didn't work. It had told me my disk was scratched!! I look at the disk and saw two thin Perfect circles scratches around the disk near the outer edge. I tried wiping hem away with a microfiber rag, and alcohol. They didn't go away....

This is weird because none of my other disks had any scratches. I always put them back in there cases after I'm done with them. So it must be my Xbox damaging them?? How do I get these scratches off? I DO NOT, want to pay another $60 dollars again, it's
way too expensive!

Its just my opinion. If you have moved/ hit ( not saying you have) the 360 while a game/dvd/cd can cause the 360 to start putting scratches on any disc.

I would send it in to have them take alook at it.

I've got the 250 GB version of the xbox 360 E and one day when I got home, I've decided to play it because I was bored and out of the blue I noticed a scratch being on top of it. it's slightly deep and I can sort of feel it if I run my finger on it and I
don't know where it came from. it looks like to me that it was done with something sharp or something like that or even worse a drop.

my brother used to play it a lot and he said he didn't know what happened to it and honestly I don't think he'll ever tell me the truth.

so Do you think someone may have dropped it according to you?

I've always had it put horizontally and on a desk since I bought it.

what causes a scratch like that?

please give me your guesses.

The scratches your talking about are concentric scratches. They can only be caused by moving the console during game play. I'm sorry to say there is no way of fixing your game disc but if you contact Rockstar they may have some sort of disc replacement
program.

frank1330, as an ambassador you should be well aware that having your xbox serviced by anyone other than Microsoft is against the TOS and can lead to your console being banned. Also, it is against the forum rules to even discuss self repair. You are violating
the rules Mr Ambassador.

 

i just had this same problem my son was playing his marvel super heroes when i heard the xbox making a strange noise behind me, now unless he grow 2 feet the console has not been moved, i turned the power off and opened the disk drive and its scratched right
around the disk
