Xbox 360 Profile Download Freeze

Purchased an Xbox 360, set up, connected to internet, attempted to download profile, bat moves all the way across, then gets permanently stuck on the next screen, asking if i want to save password. I hit the Xbox button, and my profile appears downloaded,
but freezes in the same way when I attempt to log in.

I contacted support, factory reset, cleared system cache, power cycled, and created a new microsoft account, which runs into the same problem when downloading. Both work and are easily logged into/accessed on computer. At this point, the Xbox expert I was
chatting with said it was a hardware error.

I purchased a new Xbox 360, and the problem persists. I went through the same processes with this one, same result. I opened up the ports on my router to better access 360, no effect. At this point, I don’t know what else to do. Does anyone have any ideas
I haven’t tried? Can I pay someone from Microsoft to come to my house and fix this? I just want a solution.

Also since it's just one profile having the issue you can try redownloading your profile:

Download your Xbox Live profile to a new console or redownload it

Hi Darkknight1972,

Is this a digital copy or a disc copy?

When the Xbox 360 freezes do you have to restart the console or does it take you back to the dashboard?

Is that the only game causing the console to freeze?

My suggestion would be to re-download your profile to the hard drive and re-sync your profile data from the servers and then give it a try again. Just delete the profile only and not any data when it asks and press X in the Xbox Guide to download a profile.

Also, is this the profile you're trying to download Internet Explorer with? Or do you have an alternate Gold profile on your console? Let us know!

I have seen other posts where this has been happening recently and the people that I have seen said it was a matter of waiting a little while on that screen and it will eventually go through.

I've had similar issues before, and this was my solution.

I had an older 360 that my account was previously on, I used an Xbox 360 HDD data transfer cable and plugged my old harddrive into my new 360, transferred my profile over to the new 360. No downloading, profile was now on new 360. I understand you may not have
the ability to do that, but it always worked as a solution when I had that issue.
