Xbox 360 Privacy Settings Still Broken. Blocking "Game Activity" still also blocking ...

HELLO XBOX,

(I have been working on this post for a few days now and finally I get to upload and post it tonight)

I am creating this post because I would like to report an Xbox Live issue that has persisted for many years with no fix or solution at all. At this point I feel like it should be escalated to the department responsible for the Xbox Live privacy
settings on the Xbox 360 console and dashboard.

I believe the issue is essentially a glitch/problem within the Privacy settings. When you go to your Xbox 360 dashboard under Settings > Privacy > Change Settings > Customize > Privacy section/tab > Game Activity and then proceed to change the
Game Activity option from Everyone to Blocked it inadvertently also completely blocks your Xbox Live profile information from being seen by your friends or anybody even if you set the Profile Sharing option to Everyone.


The "Game Activity" option under the Privacy section is described as "Decide who can see this person's game activity. Game activity includes games played, stats, and achievements". In my profile I set this option to Blocked.


However the "Profile Sharing" option is described as "Decide who can see this profile. A profile includes motto, personal picture, name, bio, and location, if you've provided that information". In my profile I set this option to Everyone.

I went to the Privacy & online safety webpage Sign in to your Microsoft account online to check if there is a discrepancy or difference in option settings. All the options are exactly the same as on the Xbox 360 dashboard version.


So the question I would like to ask is why does blocking game activity also block profile information when it should not? Profile information is and should be different from game activity and it should not be blocked just because I blocked my
game activity from being seen.

Error message when trying to purchase a game.

I'm trying to buy Call of Duty: Ghosts on my kid's xbox one using his account. I bought and redeemed a $70 gift card on his xbox account. When I try to purchase the game by hitting the confirm button. I get the following message:

hidden achievements are a result of some other privacy settings that people use.

my games list is hidden as are my achievements but that is only because i have every privacy setting available turned on,including blocking all messages,friend requests,online status etc.

i do it purely for my own safety and personal preferences.

you should still be able to view the profile and games list of those people you have played online with via your consoe.

The achievements can be hidden when viewing their profile on the console as well.
