    Xbox 360 power supply overheating

So my power supply overheats within 5 to 10 minutes and shuts off my 360 while displaying a red light. When this first started several months ago, I could have a strong fan blowing on it and keep the 360 on indefinitely. This doesn't seem to be the case
    anymore.

It's overheating within 30 to 40 minutes even with the fan blowing on it. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening? Or at the very least buy a new power supply without having to buy a whole 360. I'd rather not do that considering I only
use it for a single app not yet added to the Xbox One.

    :)

  2. Xbox 360 freezing

Are both console and the Power Supply in a well ventilated area? A overheating Power Supply can sometimes cause your Xbox 360 (or Xbox 360 Slim) to freeze, make sure the console and Power Supply are in a well ventilated area, if this doesn't work or both
console and Power Supply are in a well ventilated area, try the Freezing Screen Solution in the Xbox 360 console support area, if the Freezing Screen Solution doesn't solve you problem your console may need to be repaired or replaced.

Sword Style!! Hey there buddy! Xbox 360 power supply overheating :D

Is it the power supply itself that is displaying the red light? According to the below page :

    support.xbox.com/.../check-power-supply

It says that if you are getting a solid red light on the power supply unit then the solution may be to try plugging it into a different wall socket. Going off your description though, that doesn't sound like it will fix the problem but its worth a try. Failing
that, the next solution is to replace your power supply unit which should remedy this with no issue. You can get a replacement setup on that page ^

    I hope this helps bro.

    Many thanks,

    Cloud

    Oh, what's up Cloud?

I've actually moved in to a new residence since this issue first started. So it's definitely not the wall socket. I guess I'll look in to what a replacement will entail. If I have spend money and package it up and go down to the post office, that's too much
of a hassle I don't have time for right now. So I might just have to wait a little while. Big thanks for answering my question, though.

Xbox 360 and Xbox one consoles have a surge protection system build into there power supplys and the Xbox one consoles have a cooling fan in there power supplys it could be that you power supply is overheating or has over heated

I'd suggest giving them a call back and speaking to a supervisor. They may be able to arrange for a replacement to be sent out without to need for you to return the broken unit first.

    Xbox 360S Power Supply Overheating

i've called them and they want me to send the power supply away before they will replace - this is going to cost a fortune to send to the Czech Republic and i dont see that it is necessary when others on the forum have had theirs replaced without the need
to have the original sent back first....especially when my machine is still within their warranty!
