Xbox 360- plug and play

to put it simply my plug and play kit has burnt apart. i plugged it in to the Xbox and into the controller and nothing was happening. so i fiddled about abit and noticed a burning smell, looked at my controller and the rubber wire bit has burnt open and
all but 2 of the wires inside have burnt off in between the main controller plug and the knobbly bit just 4-5cm above it . i know this isnt really somthing you can help with but just thought i should report it. p.s. it is a gray one not sure how old no more
than 3 years.

Xbox Plug and Play

Believe it or not it is an intended design. the console turns back on with just enough power to continue charging the controller or if you have the continue download while off option turned on enough power to continue downloading something.

There is nothing wrong, unless your console fully turns back on. but if it sorta looks like a low power state everything should be fine.

If you wish for this not to happen there is something you can do. What you do is instead of shutting the console down via the dashboard or guide button...shut it off by pressing the power button on the front of the console.

 

Xbox Plug and Play

I have had an Xbox slim for about a year and this problem happened on my old Elite before that. What will happen is when I get done playing I want to charge my controller. With the system off and about 10 seconds after I plug it in my xbox then turns itself
on. I don't know anyone else with an Xbox who has the same problem. What is the problem and how can it be fixed.

well that must have bean a shock to you (no pun intended) but I think you need to replace it for a new one, also what battery's are you using?

 

Was it a Microsoft made play'n'charge cable? Or was it an off-brand, third party brand? I've purchased off-brand/third party brands of battery packs and play'n'charge cables. I remember the battery leaked acid.

But, if it is a Microsoft brand one, than it's probably just old or something.
