Xbox 360 plays in 60fps or 30fps?

Okay so me and my friend are debating wether the xbox 360 plays in 60fps or 30fps. He says it runs 60fps I say it runs 30fps. He also says that when he records xbox gameplay in 30fps he notices missing frames but when he records in 60 he sees it running
in a smooth 60fps. I told him there is a difference playing in than recording because if you are recording a game running at 30fps and the recording it set at 60fps. The recording will be in 60fps because thats what you have it set to. I told him the next
gen consoles are the first to play games at 60fps. If anyone would like to give their input I would greatly appreciate it thanks!

30 fps vs 60 fps

Obviously 60fps is better. If Xbox 360 can play games natively at 720p aka Halo 4 is natively 720p on Xbox 360, Xbox 1 should be able to play games at 1080p 30 or 60fps, or 720p @ 60fps.

Already own a pc thanks and it plays games xbox one/360 stutters on and at 60fps steady with atleast 1080p no problem..now you know why I say this "next gen" console doesnt feel so "next gen". Maybe they should try focusing less on all in one features and
more on raw power and performance.

Depends on the game. A large majority run in 30fps with the exception of COD and other games.

For reference I know COD, Rage, Forza, and Bayonetta run at 60 fps most of the time on 360.

Most games tend to run at 30 fps, some even run lower.

It is down to the developer and depends on the game. An example of a game that doesn't run at 60fps would be (correct me if I am wrong) Duke Nukem Forever. The console is capable of playing games that run up to 60fps. So you and your friend are both right
