Xbox 360 Payment glitches and issues

I have bought many Xbox 360 and original Xbox games either from my Xbox One or through xbox.com. Now all of a sudden, I get "No payment on file". When I click on change payment I get another error saying oops, you found a glitch. I am still waiting
for support to reach back out to me but so far, they have not been helpful. Anyone have the same issue and found a resolution? Support mentioned using a Xbox 360 but I don't have one.

You said you clicked on "change payment", can you instead try and add another payment option such as paypal or another credit card?

What's weird is that on my Microsoft account I do have my payment information on there, but when I go to the 360 marketplace website to get Battlefront, it says I have no payment method on the purchase screen. When I click on "Add payment method" on the
purchase screen it takes me to a page that gives me error saying "There's a glitch on our side" and won't let me add my payment credentials.

So I'm just stuck here not being able to get Xbox classic or 360 games now because of this glitch, and the only solution I've found while searching is to buy an Xbox 360 and put in your payment credentials just to allow myself to play backwards compatible
games on my Xbox One. It's ridiculous, and now I'm likely gonna miss out on getting Battlefront for free, or any future backwards compatible game.

Quite often that payment option must be added on an Xbox 360, even adding a payment option on your Xbox One or PC will not in most cases allow you to download Xbox 360 games on your Xbox One.

That's not quite true. I no longer own an Xbox 360, and I recently changed my payment details on my account. I can still redeem free GwG Xbox 360 games, either via my Xbox One or PC, no problem.

What is true, is that a payment method is a mandatory requirement if you try to obtain such games with an Xbox One or a PC.

If you have an Xbox 360 however, no payment option is required to redeem these games via that console. I don't know why this is the case, my best guess is that it's a left over glitch or unfortunate quirk of Microsoft switching from MS points to a currency
based system.

I have experienced this before and what you need to do is add a payment method to the Xbox Games Store and what will happen is that it gets processed as a £0.00 transaction.

This seems to happen with Games with Gold Xbox 360 games when there is no payment on the account. I don’t think it is a glitch, just a marketplace quirk
