Xbox 360 party - makes game connection lag.

I'm wondering why when I play a game like CoD Black Ops 2 by myself I always have excellent connection, like max speed and as soon as I shoot someone it registers; however when I create an xbox live party with a friend of mine, I drop down to a yellow ping
when playing games. I have a 60 mbps dl/ 4 mbps ul connection but when in a party, it drops. I live in Wisconsin and my friend lives in Florida... Is the long distance the main reason my ping drops so low while in a party with my friend?

I opened up all the ports that are required and even put my xbox 360 in the DMZ. Even if I join a game while in a party, but him not actually playing the game and we are just talking my ping turns mediocre as opposed to great. I've tried connecting my xbox
360 straight into the modem as opposed to going through the router (plugging the wire into xbox instead of router first) and no matter what it doesn't matter.

Granted, my friend's connection is a 10 mbps dl/ 2 mbps ul speed, but I would imagine that is good enough for xbox live.

So is there anything I can do that will ensure great connection at all times even when I'm in a party? As I said, when by myself the connection is top notch - but when I'm in a game while in a party with my friend (him playing or just at dash board talking)
my connection turns into mediocre at best.

Lag while chatting in Parties on Backwards Compatibility games

I thought I'd bring this to your attention that I have been encountering while playing backwards compatible games that while chatting in game/party chats using the xbox party system I encounter lag and volume decreases, as well as random connections and
disconnections while in party.

 

Keep lagging out of Xbox Live parties and games

everytime im in a party or a game itll lag me out. i wont lag off xbox live, ill just lag out the party, out the game, than itll reconnect me to the party. this just started happening about 3 days ago, before then it was fine. its really impossible for me
to stay connected to a party for long than 2 minutes. ive reset my router, tested my network connection about a hundred times, and ran speed tests, which came out to what i think is pretty good, so i dont think its a problem with my connection.

Download Speed: 17.23mbps

upload speed: 1.74mbps

this lag is really annoying, how can i fix this?

 

It might be your friend that is causing the lag, usually one person that is red bar-ing can cause lag for the game.

 

Also to add, with port forwarding, DMZ and UPNP. You should only have one of these happening at a time or they will cause conflicts. I am not saying that this is causing your current problem but you really should just choose one. Upnp is the recommended
method to use but your router may not support it so pick between open ports or DMZ not both.
