Xbox 360 Parental locked but serial numbers won't match

I am more than happy to provide you with a couple of solutions that might help with resolving the problem. If these solutions do not fix your issue, I would suggest taking the console back to the store you purchased and having them exchange it for a console that is not locked. As someone who worked at videogame stores, before anyone trades a console, they must be free of any passcodes or passwords before selling them. Would you please try the following solution?

Solution:

Press middle Xbox Guide button and this will bring up Xbox Guide.

• Scroll over to settings
  
• select system settings
  
• Select Console Settings
  
• Scroll down to System Info and select. it
  
• On the next screen you will put the code below
  

Next, you'll input a code just like a cheat code for a game.

1. Pull left trigger.
   
2. Pull right trigger.
   
3. Press X
   
4. Press Y
   
5. Press left bumper
   
6. Press right bumper
   
7. Press A
   

Then either on D-Pad

Right, Down, Up or repeat the above steps and then try Down, Up, Up, X

If done correctly it will pull up a prompt to restart your system. If this do not work, then please click on the link below

Formating won't lock it up. Just type in the Xbox's serial number and do it.

Go to the settings and
find the system info.

You should see the serial number that the Xbox reads from the motherboard.

If it matches the serial number on the sticker on the back of the console, the original motherboard should still be intact.

No, the serial numbers for consoles and accessories are different and unique. Even with the serial number, there would be no way to track a controller. The only thing you can track is Microsoft Account sign-in activity from

here. Unfortunately you will need to settle this issue with your brother about getting your controller back.
