Xbox 360 parental control passcode reset

I have a friend who's kids want an Xbox 360. I have one I no longer use and want to give it to them. I have been trying to get it back to factory settings where they can set it up for their use. Apparently I set up parental controls on the device at some
point and can no longer remember the code to get into the parental control area. I have contacted support multiple times over the last 3 days and every time I'be been told the system that generates the codes is updating. Has anyone else experienced this? Is
there a better time of day to call to avoid the systems updating. I've tried phone and chat support both at different times of day.

Xbox 360 settings reset code

If this is about the family settings passcode, you can
reset that Xbox 360 family passcode yourself, if you have an adult account with these instructions.

Parental Control on. Bought second hand so don't know passcode or security question to change it

I bought an xbox 360 second hand and the parental Control is on. I don't know the passcode or the question to reset it. Please help.

Have you tried resetting the passcode by entering your secret question ?

If you’ve forgotten your pass code, you can reset it by answering the pass code question you created when you set up parental controls on your Xbox 360 console. Here’s how:

On your console, go to Settings, and then select Family.

When you’re prompted, enter any pass code (even though it’s incorrect).

When you’re notified that your pass code is incorrect, select Reset Pass Code.

When your pass code question appears, use your controller or chatpad to enter the answer, and then select
Done.
