Xbox 360 Original Setup Help

Have a Samsung HDTV that has no composite inputs, only HDMI. Original Xbox 360 only has cable with HD Composite and AV Composite outputs. How do I connect? Can't find an adapter that won't fry my HDMI ports on my TV. Picture shows only option that
came with Xbox, no other ports visible on the unit, and USB is being used by Kinect. Any suggestions?

In addition, also keep in mind the graphical limitations of those cables as well. The HDMI adapters will help connect, but it wont look amazing as the later HDMI models had. Only other alternative is try to purchase an E series slim model that has the

Hi,

A Component/Composite to HDMI adaptor should allow you to connect this older 360 to a modern HDMI TV/Monitor.

To be honest so little power goes through these things, it would be highly unlikely to fry the HDMI port/s on your TV. Just make sure you buy a reputable one.

Make sure it has HD component inputs, the red, green & blue cable connectors. The yellow RCA cable is for Standard definition and you won't need to connect that one.

Far as I'm aware there are third party adapters into which you can plug older style connections such as this which will then convert them to HDMI but short of that there's no other way to do it if your TV doesn't have them which a lot of more modern TV's
simply don't have.

The original xbox servers are no longer online, so if you are trying to play online with the original xbox, you won't be able to.

What Xbox 360 model do you have, and do you receive any specific error codes/messages when trying to complete the setup?

If it’s an Xbox 360 E:

Set up your Xbox 360 E console | Xbox Support

If it’s the original or S model:

Set up your original Xbox 360 or Xbox 360 S console | Xbox Support

Keep in mind that most games and apps are now limited on Xbox 360 due to the obsolete software and discontinued support and security updates. Apps like Netflix and YouTube aren’t accessible, and a lot of online servers (multiplayer/matchmaking) for games have been shut down by the developers.
