    Xbox 360 "Open Tray" help


    xbox 360. I decided to try putting a movie disc into my xbox from the xbox tray and then it didnt work but thats not the problem after that all xbox 360 game disc wont read all it says is "Open Tray" thats all i dont know why, i tried restarting my xbox
    and it still says that and my disc has no scratch and is clean i dont know what to do

    360 S "open tray"

    Currently, my 360 (S) console will not play any disks, it just says "open tray." I read through the "open tray" forum post and support faq's and attempted everything that was recommended to no avail.
    Unfortunately, my 1 years warranty is up. So instead of sending my console to repaired, does Best Buy or Geek Squad repair these kind of issues?

    360 S "open tray"

    If the repair is done by someone not officially licensed by Microsoft you risk further damage to your system. Sending it in or buying another console is your best options.

    If it happens on all game discs then it sounds like you have a faulty console.

    If it is you would need to get it repaired or replaced.

    Hi, umm my xbox 360 slim, i have auto play on which obviously wont work but when i open and close the tray it says reading for a second with a beeping sound then no spinning and then open tray? PLEASE HELP. ITS GETTING ON MY NERVES!

    Disc tray.

    The xbox one (s) doesn't have a disc tray and it was never meant to be opened.

    If you are referring to the 360 then that does have a tray that can open then it makes sense.

    I got a brand new xbox 360 slim in christmas 2011. A month later, the power button blinks/flashes. And the disk tray open and closes. On the xbox home menu, it says the *** is opening( even when the tray is fully open) or close tray. Can someone PLEASE help
    me. Xbox boxes break so easy. I thought the slim would be better. but it only lasted a month. I probably going to get ps4 instead of xbox720 if microsoft don't fix all the problems with xboxes.

    I had this problem with my Original Xbox 360 as well and I noticed a good bit of dust was causing the disks to be unreadable I fixed it by getting some pressured air and blowing a little bit in there and cleaning off the disk tray.

    As for the disk tray being stuck you can try cleaning the edges of the disk tray when its open as well as the edges of the xbox around where the disk tray is while its open with a dry cloth. ( I did it with a slighty damp one but I have a second Xbox 360
    so I wasn't to worried about being gentle )

    none of these steps really helped me, Ive tryed them all but they didnt work, I put in a game and my 360 elite reads it, then it says open tray, I have to open the tray like a alot of time before the game gets read, and my 360 never acted up till the disk
