    My xbox 360 won't let me connect to online play. It freezes while attempting to connect. The disk works fine in my dad's xbox and all of my other COD games connect online just fine.

    It's just COD 3. It's just on my xbox 360.

    Xbox Live doesn't have to be ended, the service itself is only for online play, and again those servers are controlled by the publishers. As long as their are games there is no reason to remove live, and there won't be a reason to just "stop live" as live is a service overall of xbox.

    If you have xbox live, you have it, why would they just say "no xbox live on x360". And again, live just enables us to connect to servers. You're friends list and all of that isn't likely to be taken offline, again it's all based around one ecosystem for their online platform.

    There is no need to "kill" xbox live in anyway for xbox 360, at some point you just won't get games that have server requirements because of publishers. At most you are a gold sub that can't play online because those companies closed their games off, but the xbox itself would still connect to the services because there's no reason to just cut the system out when the entire system is still online after you shut off xbox 360's ability to connect.

    Again, not likely to happen. The service itself might not have much supporting it in the end, but i wouldn't expect the live service to stop unless MS kills the service itself. This way if you want friends, you can still see them, etc.

    it connects fine, its just in game very choppy and stuttery. never disconnects

    only freezes in game, exclusively when playing online (Fifa and CoD)

    Waited almost a year, since Xbox One release date, to get a Xbox One. So I buy the Xbox One COD Advance Warfare Bundle, and can only play campaign to Aftermath then game freezes and go back to home screen, go online and that freezes and crashes, so have
    a new system and can't play it. Glad I kept my Xbox 360. Hope we can get a patch soon, for COD Advance Warfare.

    I contacted them from the UK they said, it may be my Internet connection and thats all they never took me through troubleshooting steps. My xbox Only freezes when I'm connected to xbox live the dashboard will freezes up sometimes and games would lock up
    while on-line. When I play matchmaking my connection is grate no lag or nothing, it's only live services.

    i really only played halo 3 i think it was on the 360, had a few months of it but transitioned over to cod with my mates online and always preferred cod in the end

    @HGC Fear CX: That's not strictly true, the modern warfare games don't have dedicated servers. Matchmaking and stats are stored on servers, but the games themselves are run via a client/server system whereby users own consoles and Internet connections are
    used to host games. This system is used for all COD games. If the OP's problem is due to connectivity issues, these lie with their Internet connection or the hosts they are connected to during play.

    Questions that need to be asked:

    1. Is your game disc in good condition? If it is scratched, it could cause the console to freeze. see:

    2. Is this the only game with freezing issues?

    3. Is the console in a well ventilated area?

    4. Have your cleared your consoles' system cache?

    5. Have you tried installing the game?

    6. Borrow a friends copy, does it still crash now?
