    Xbox 360 Offline profile


    I have a gaming profile on the 360 that I need to modify prior to connecting it to a free live account. I cannot do this because when going into the account the profile setting is not active. So I cannot make changes. How do I go in and edit the profile?

    Adding my partners Xbox 360 Username to the Xbox One

    It sounds like you created an offline profile on your 360 for your partner. Unless it's an online profile with a unique associated email address, you won't be able to transfer it across. Your profile transferred, but your partners isn't attached to it, it's separate and offline on the 360.

    I'd look at trying to convert the offline profile on your 360 to an online one, associate an email with it, then load that up in the One.

    I just did this today with my offline partners profile which was on my own Gold account (360 ) Xbox 360 Offline profile :)

    You need to use a 24hr, 2 day, 7day pass and create an xbox live account for each of them, then port them across

    The 360s had what were called offline profiles.

    These are profiles that do not require a MS account these were only available on the 360 on the One they require xbox profiles with MS accounts.

    If you never got with the 360 and never set your 360 profile up with a MS account then here is a support article that will instruct you in how to turn the offline profile into an online profile.

    Hello Korfall,

    Sorry for the issue with the account. What it sounds like is the account was an offline profile on the Xbox 360. When you signed into the Xbox one it created a live profile and now voided the offline profile. Especially if it is the same email on both accounts
    then that is for sure what happened. Only way around this is to delete the offline profile off the 360 and download the now live account onto the 360. You may lose all progress that was done on the offline profile, due to it not being activated to live correctly.
