Xbox 360 offline lagging

Xbox 360 started to lag while playing offline. Starts to lag after about a half an hour of game play. All games are downloaded, have 91 gb of space still on my hard drive, cables are fairly new, tv is on game mode, and fan seems to work OK. Also cleared
my cache. I've tried searching forums and articles and cannot seem to find anything pertaining to my problem. Help.

Sorry to hear you're having issues with your games lagging.

There are a couple of things that you may want to look into:

Some TVs can cause lagging if they're on the wrong settings. Check to see if your Television has Game Mode that you can enable.

You can also try using a different cable to connect your console or try connecting your console to a different TV.

This will help us narrow down where the issue may be.

If your games are installed, you may want to try uninstalling them to free up some Hard Drive space and see if you're still having the lag.

Let us know how that all goes for you and we'll work from there.

It sounds like you've already tried clearing the cache - have you tried installing the games to the Hard Drive and then playing them?

Hey there wolverine081.

Which particular games are you having this trouble on? It sounds odd, but when you get a chance try clearing your Xbox 360 cache three times in a row. Often times this can clear up trouble like what you're experiencing.

As long as Spartan Ops doesn't lag as badly as it did on the Xbox 360, I could care less whether it is online or offline.

Lag is still the same, loading times, too many things on screen also fire, fire on anything (like say Borderlands 2) and close to it would make the game lag

sounds like an issue reading the disc when loading stuff. you should try installing the game to your hard drive and see if it runs better that way. or if it already is installed, it could be an issue reading the hard drive, but more likely the dvd drive
needs maintenance. they build up dust pretty quickly inside there.

Hi there,

first thing to try is to clear the console cache, please see the steps here:
support.xbox.com/.../clear-system-cache

Be sure to do it 3x and then restart the console.

If that didn't help and if possible please try if you are experiencing the same lag when using a different profile on the console. (If needed you can create a new (offline) profile on the console to use and test it)

If the other profile does not experience the same issue, you will need to remove the profile (Profile only) and redownload it, please see the steos here on how to remove and redownload a profile:

Be sure to clear the system cache after removing the profile and then restart the console and redownload the profile.
