Xbox 360 not showing up in HomeGroup

    Hello,

So I feel like I'm going to lose it soon with this problem I'm having... The worst part is it worked fine before.

I have an xbox 360 that I want to connect to my pc with windows 8.1. When I click on my network in control panel my xbox shows up as a gaming device so I know my network recognizes it and when I run the test on the xbox it says everything is connected but
no computers are shown, however when I go to change homegroup settings on the pc it doesn't come up in the list. I've tried turning off all firewalls (norton and windows) but no luck. I can't figure out what changed that caused this issue to arise since it
    was fine before. Please help!

    :)

Unable to play music on Xbox via laptop(homegroup)

In the past the homegroup feature worked flawlessly, now it seems that it doesn't want to work for me in any way. I've searched and searched, I even tried 14 pages worth of Google's "solutions", but nothing has worked. I am in the same Homegroup as two other
laptops in my house. My Xbox 360 console is able to see the two laptops, but it is not able to see mine. I have everything on my laptop set up like the first two, however, it will not work. I have tried using Homegroup, Windows Media Center, and Windows Media
Players 'Play To' feature, but to no avail. I've been stuck on this issue for a little over 2 years now, and nothing seems to work. Does anyone know what the issue could be?

Play To isn't working from my Win 8 Pro PC to my Xbox 360

I'm getting one of two errors every time I try to use Play To from Music. One is "this app can't send to other devices right now". The other is "you don't have any devices that can receive content from music".

My Xbox 360 does have Play To enabled. My PC is on a Private network (same one as the Xbox), and Network Discovery is on, if that matters. I have a Homegroup created, if that matters, though no other device is connected to that Homegroup. I have Music, Photos,
and Videos set to share in the Homegroup, and Media Devices are allowed.

I do not see any way to have the Xbox 360 "join" the Homegroup, but I've also not read anything that makes it seem as if that would be necessary.

What in the world more do I need to do to make this work? I'm a bit more savvy than the average user--how is the rest of my family supposed to get this?

    Windows 8/Smartglass/Xbox video "Play to"

Dang it! I did already have a homegroup set up, with sharing on (for everything but documents), and the xbox still doesn't show up in my devices. I connected to the xbox via smartglass, used the controller feature to double check the connection, and then
Alt+tab into devices and had it scan, and still nothing!

Windows 8.1 not seeing XBox One

Didn't see this anywhere in anyone else responses and it just worked for me after all else failed (windows 8.1). My computer for some reason didn't have my internet connection set up as the homegroup. Made my connection the homegroup and boom works like
a charm (a lot of the other stuff said here is still required like the xbox setting stuff). Just go to the network and sharing center on your computer (rightclick the wifi icon on the right of the taskbar) and click "homegroup" (bottom-left corner of the menu).
It will tell you if you don't have your connection as the homegroup there and will also give you a one-click option to make it the homegroup.

Can't stream from Windows 7 (missing media renderer driver). AGHGHGERGGHRH....

I had the same issue after it worked from the day i got the xbox one.

What i did to get it to work is setup a homegroup, easiest way is to click on stream on the windows media player and click the option about turn on homegroup.

If you have one already set up it might be that you need to just rejoin it like i did.

Make sure you have allow streaming to all network devices.

Then just below that there is blue link for media streaming options....click it

This will show all devices that are currently available to stream to and just make sure the xbox is allowed.

If the xbox doesnt show up then you need to add the device in the control panel.

Then if it all works open up windows media play and just right click and play to xbox.
