    Xbox 360 makes weird noise while playing

    Is it making the noise if the disc's are installed to the HDD?

    Why are 360 games so fragile?

    Not all disc's are made the same though. I have gotten some games pc/xbox/ps3 wise and they work forever no matter how badly they are scratched and other you get a finger print on it and it wont read.

    I have started going digital with all of my game disc's and such, so that I do not have to worry about the disc's getting ruined.

    IT WON'T READ ANY DISC'S INCLUDING GAMES FOR XBOX 360 AND DVD'S LIKE MOVIES.....AND YES I HAVE TRIED ALL THE SUGGESTIONS FROM XBOX AND NO I DON'T WANT TO SEND IT IN FOR 21 DAYS AND PAY THEM WHEN I CAN PAY FOR A NEW ONE. I DO NOT WANT TO LOSE ALL THE DOWNLOADED
    CONTENT ON MY OLD CONSOLE THOUGHT- I WOULD HOPE THERE WOULD BE A WAY TO TRANSFER THE MATERIAL I OWN TO MY CONSOLE I INTEND TO PURCHASE.

    From what it seems like, the sensor that reads the discs in your XBOX is damaged. This happened to me a few years back and I got it replaced. There is no need to get a whole new XBOX. If you don't mind, what console are you intending to purchase? I can help

    If this is all of a sudden, then yeah it's your console. If you have a fat 360 console and did a system update, then the update bricked your drive and you may be entitled to a free repair from Microsoft. I believe the drives were Lite-On drives. The content
    is tied to your account and not your console, although if you do decide to buy new then you can use the license transfer utility to move stuff over.

    maybe but the people at xbox are morons and very unhelpful - I threw it out and got a PS4 plus I don't have to pay to play online - added bonus

    Only if it's a downloaded game.

    If it's a disc version of a game the disc must be in the disc drive,even if you've installed the disc onto the hard drive.

    Sounds like the disc is damaged.You should never move your console with a disc inside.You're quite lucky that the only thing that got damaged was the disc.

    Some game shops offer a disc repair service for a small fee so you could try that if it's available.The only other option is to buy a new copy of the game.
