xbox 360 Minecraft problem

My kids can't find their player profile when they start the system up. It won't allow them to play offline or at all until they add an additional storage device. I have checked the storage hard drive (4 gig) and it directs me to execute a format procedure,
but if I do this it will probably delete everything that they have saved. The kids play Minecraft here and have worlds that they have worked on for years, and will literally me if I lose it for them.

Can anyone help me to figure this out?

Wish they did a similar deal to Minecraft where you got it cheaper if you had the xbox 360 version. I've already bought it on the 360 and the ipads.

my son has been playing minecraft, saint row, far cry 4 etc in Xbox 360. is it possible to transfer the games to xbox one? minecraft is an online purchase. rest all the discs we bought from Game.

he doesnt want to upgrade to xbox one but ofcourse we are missing out the new features of xbox one and xbox 360 is getting out dated fast and would value for nothing soon.. ihave few consoles left like that and lying in the garage.. (ps2, xbox, psp etc)..

any advice on transferring the games would be helpful for me to decide on xbox one..

Rollback the update (solution 7) since it could be the root cause of the issue. Give it a shot and let us know so we can get this issue ironed out!

 

When you say you check the 4 gb storage device do you mean the one that is built into the console? If so that may be the issue. If there was another storage device connected to the console make sure that it's securely plugged in or inserted.

yes, it was the built in one. Is there any way to re set it without losing saved material?

 

This system is not connected to the internet. The kids prefer to play offline.

This could be the issue, the console or game or both could be in need of an update. We suggest going online with the console and check the previous link to update the console, once that is done check the games for updates and try it again! Keep us in the
loop to get this figured out!

 

That is definitely not good. It's especially difficult if the console is offline. What I would suggest is to get an external USB storage device and see if you can move the game saves onto it. After that try a factory reset on the console to see if that
helps.

You can use an external USB hard drive up to 2 tb in size for extra save and game storage.

 

I have tried to using a USB device, but I cannot find the saved material or the player profile. When I check the internal storage it only gives me the option to format.

Sorry to hear it. Unfortunately, in this case there is nothing to do here but restore the console to factory settings to see if that helps. You can learn how to restore the console to factory settings

via this link.

Hopefully this will fix the internal flash drive. If it does then I would recommend creating online profiles for your children (they do not need to have Xbox Live) and use an external storage device to store your game saves on.

If that does not help you may need to set up a repair of the console. You can set this up at
devicesupport.microsoft.com

 

I'm really hoping to not have to tell the kids that their saved games are lost for good. Do you think that I should look into taking the system to a repair or gamer shop to see if someone there could do something with it.? Either way thank you for trying

I really wish I had a better answer for you but if the flash drive has died or is dying then I'm afraid the saves will be lost. Even if there were a way to restore them, I'm afraid there is not, they would be corrupted beyond the ability to use them.
