  1. Xbox 360 Live Marketplace Prices Don't Decrease Over Time

Prices for DLC on the Xbox 360 Live Marketplace don't diminish over time. For example, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, released in 2008, has a downloadable map pack available that costs more than if you were to actually purchase the game. The "Variety Map
Pack" for the CoD: 4 is priced at $9.99 but I can purchase the game at a local store for mere dollars. l don't understand why the price of game titles diminish over time but DLC does not. Microsoft is the only company with this type of pricing strategy. It
is completely irrational and lowering the price or offering package deals of DLC map packs or other DLC would present it as more attractive as well as a more affordable purchase. This goes for other game titles as well such as Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit,
Halo (Reach, How Wars) and many additional titles. I hope Microsoft Corporate/Management comes to the realization of how unreasonable some of their prices are and that most of the marketplace items must be reviewed in order to reestablish them at a fair price
    for their Customers.

Also, I attempted to contact Microsoft in order to address this issue but was incorrectly transfered or simply hung up on multiple times. I also reached out to Activision and they said that they are not in control of the pricing once the agreement is reached
with Microsoft. He also said that Xbox is a lot more restrictive in content in comparison to Playstation. So for all of you who say it is out of Microsoft's hands you're dead wrong. They are the ones who establish the price and also charge the developer just
to put the game on the marketplace. That's why there is no free content offered by developers. Because they would be losing money if they simply put the DLC up for free. One example would be the Left for Dead 2 DLC. Valve wanted to release the DLC for free
but were forced to charge 450 Microsoft Points just to break even. It sickens me that Microsoft does this but I will admit they have started to release free games monthly or something like that but they still have a long way to come. I think that everyone
should know about this. Please pass it on so we can make a change!

    :)

What about digital titles? Do you think that Microsoft might reduce their prices?

I think that Microsoft might be decreasing the prices of games on their marketplace to discourage people buying used games. It worked well enough for Steam but in my opinion, a lot of the titles on the marketplace simply aren't worth it. Maybe the XBOX ONE will improve that.

They do have incredible sales sometimes which keeps me broke.Hard to resist games like DarkSouls and DungeonSiege III at 5 bucks each and Mass Effect at $3.97! Keep an eye on the sales each week and you will see deals.

  5. There's no way you can justify DLC prices that haven't been lowered in more than 6 years! Yeah, they have some deals, but they're very selective and usually only for a limited time. 6 additional call of duty games have been made since call of duty 4 and
they have not lowered the prices on any of their DLCs. Lowering prices happens to everything else. Why not DLC? And you're also talking about full games which if you look at the DLC packages for the two games you mentioned, I'm sure you will find the sum
of one DLC costing more than the game itself that you acquired for a "great deal", which reaffirms my argument regarding DLC.

  7. They should reduce the DLC price in line with the main games price reduction.

As you say a lot of older games have DLC thats more expensive than the full game, makes no sense.

You really should avoid buying COD4 DLC no matter what it costs, the game is destroyed by modders.

CoD : 4 will always have a special place in my heart though and I just use that as an example. Anyways, I'm not one to post on forums and this is my first time doing so. Does Microsoft actually look at things like this and will they ever do something about
it? I think lowering prices or making awesome DLC package deals will be big incentives and reinvigorate old games, making revenue and accelerating user base back to the game, even if people only stay on the game for a couple of months. There's still a lot
of money to be made to be honest. People just forget about older games and the DLC that goes with it that they passed up on. That's why I want to go into business or marketing. I have an implicit understanding of things like these. It seems like common sense
    to me

  9. personally I disagree with DLC. I will buy it sometimes if it really is going to help (like the map unlock for AC4) but things like maps themselves or guns ect... should be free or much cheaper. Just my opinion there. Gone are the days you buy a game and
    that is that.

MS has invested billions of dollars in moving the consoles to the xbox one. They will continue to "support" xbox 360 users but they have very little incentive because they want people to buy a XB1. The less that MS "has" to invest in the 360, the better
    for them.

RipzKordBesides, the software companies et their own prices.

  12. I just thought that I'd check back in. Since I've gotten back into playing Xbox, occasionally I play with a big group of friends just like old times. I'm into games like CoD 4, MW2, Black Ops, Halo 3, Reach and Halo Wars. I was online with 7 of my buddies
last night playing Black Ops, the only game we all have in common, and only some of us had the DLC. Some of my friends who have previously had the DLC have switched accounts or don't have the DLC for other reasons. But the Rezzurection DLC for Black Ops is
till priced at $15. I can buy CoD World at War or Black Ops flat out for about half of that. Same with all of the other games. Why can't they just lower the prices? I don't understand.

It's so disappointing and we all make jokes about how stupid it truly is. I think it's finally time to re-evaulate prices. I recognize the entire Xbox One situation and that they don't want the 360 to be appealing. But for God's sake, slashing some deals
on games that are over 5 years old just sounds like the right thing to do. Nothing in the entire world maintains its value like DLC content. You'd think its like real estate or something and even that waivers! I don;t care what anybody says. There is absolutely
    no way to justify it.
