xbox 360 live issues.

signed my kid up with Xbox live yesterday. The updates wiped the memory and has cause nothing but frustration. We can't use the system now as yet another update keeps failing.

Port forwarding question

Because of the lack of UPnP support, I discovered my X1 Open NAT kept going to Strict when a 360 upstairs was turned on. Even though they are not a Live user the console was calling out to Live to update tiles, etc., so it was appearing in UPnP using an original Live port that it wouldn't give up until I cleared the UPnP ports table. I have now disconnected that 360 from the network, so now it's just mine that creates the issue.

So much for being able to use your Live account on an X1 and 360 at the same time.

Loads of threads on the official support forums about NAT issues, spanning all sorts of devices and firmware.

I think Microsoft really have released the X1 in a not quite ready state.

 

Are you getting an error code displayed on the screen?

If so, you should be able to search the help section and find the cause of the problem.

Also try completely clearing the HDD including any profiles (basically putting it back to new console settings) then let the console download and install any updates. Once this done you can then download your kids profile from Xbox live and hopefully that
might sort the problem.
