xbox 360 live going offline

i have been told that the xbox 360 won't be able to online any more after end of the year is this correct or is it false rumour

I want to be able to sign in offline before going on Xbox live like 360

Sadly whenever you play that particular game, it's going to sign you out of Xbox Live and you'd basically be playing an offline version of the Xbox 360. No connecting to Live in-game or achievements.

So long as people pay for the service it will continue. Just because the contract is up for renewal, dosen't mean it's going away.

Not entirely Bong...I was paying for Live on the original console in 2010 when its' servers were shut down. I would guess 5 more years.

 

The 360 servers will be up several years from now.

 

The next server renewal contract is due in 2015...... I would expect another 3 to 5 year deal.

The answer to the question asked is False. As for the time left, that depends on the demand.....

if and when more people own the One instead of the 360, a change will be made just like back in 2010 with the original xbox.

 

Microsoft is still selling the 360 and there's no sign that they'll stop it anytime soon. The will never shut down online services for a console which is still on the market.

 

Never mind that, but what is going on with xbox live tonight?, Xbox One and Windows Phone is having bother via Xbox Live

It will be a long long time before they shut down support for the 360. Many people actually prefer it to the X1 and for good reason - the party chat system (unless they have since made the X1's equivalent to the 360 since I last checked), the FULL unquestioned
1080 capability, the ease of use with the UI and access to all it's settings, and so on. As long as people prefer this, as long as MS keeps producing and selling the 360, until the X1 catches and surpasses the 360 (the X1 is, in many respects, a step backwards-from
an average user standpoint the X1 only really has a faster processor with more ram with larger multiplayer lobbies, but nothing else over the 360-atleast nothing at this point to make it worth dumping $400-$500 for a new system), as long as dev's keep making
games for the 360 and as long as there is a sizeable demand for those games, the 360 and MS's support of it will be around for a long time.

Maybe stick with what you have....You only get one COD game on the ONE

 

XBL for the 360 will be around for a few more years and I have a feeling the servers will be around a bit longer. I don't know when online capabilities will no longer be supported on the 360, but I don't see it being for quite some time.
