The Hard Reset Needed Ones.

For the past 2 weeks even DL Demo games are locking up, Hit the Home button, and.... Freezes?!?

Go to sign in... Error. - Go to Apps... Unable to launch... What gives? I check the Alerts.. Nothing on it. Now, some say in these threads. "DD something rather attacks." - I don't believe that for one second.

What I do believe is that M is integrating the One's OS over to the 360, but with the very same glitches. So all we can do to correct these glitches in the short term is. HARD RESET. Only on the 360 Slim (Bing... I do like that sound) doing a hard reset
isn't all that easy. Yes, hard reset did clear up MOST of these glitches for a day, then... Hard reset needed AGAIN.

Patience is a virtue, so I do hope Microsoft's Xbox division gets these glitches
ON BOTH SYSTEMS ironed out soon so that
WE ALL can enjoy our All in One Wonders error free.

PS: For those who may want to pretend that any/all this ^ is hardware related. Don't even go there, for it's obviously software related!

I got this a while back & hated it but now I quite like it.

Having ads is wrong,that I agree with,but everything else becomes 2nd nature & it is a fair bit quicker than the old UI.

The xbox one is not slower than than the 360.

Like you've been told before,there must be something wrong with your xbox one if it takes longer to boot up & is slower than your 360.

My xbox one is a day one & it's miles faster than any of my xbox 360's.

 

How will I know when a game has been added to the BC catalogue?

I know that with the recent update that 360 games will now become available on Xbox One BC as they become available, rather then the monthly updates.

But how will I know that a game has been added to the catalogue?

 

So, you're guessing that MS is attempting to move the One's OS over to the 360? (Or, at least parts of it)

I don't think the 360 has enough "umph" in its box to actually operate multiple apps at one time. I'd find it very difficult to believe they are trying for this.

 

I have been on my Xbox 360 every day knocking out my extensive backlog. I haven't had 1 issue signing on either my XB1 or 360 the past week when there were several "Red Service Alerts" especially over the passed 3 days. I have no issues launching any
of my apps. I just completed Skyrim. And I am now working on Fable 3 Co op with my buddy, and The Witcher 2. No issues locking up.

'Umph' isn't an issue. For no-one is expecting the 360 to walk and chew gum at the same time. Not even the X1 can do that YET.

What is an issue IS having only 1 (ONE) OS to deal with for both systems.

Which is what I would do, and what I think Microsoft is going. Except... They should have fixed the glitches in the OS so that HARD RESETS were a thing of the past before attempting to intigrate it into the 360. But I guess do it today, fix it tomorrow has
become the normal mindset these days eh.

 

Can't disagree with you there Electro. The hard resets on the One are annoying. Put out now patch it later is the standard for games no doubt. But the One? I haven't felt that way. (To each their own)

But I haven't had any issues on Xbox 360.

 

I hope you, nor anyone never does have any problems.

For reasons I have already posted here in these forums B4, I can only play campaign games locally and for all these glitches to suddenly occure. Leads me to start being concerned that if they continue. I'll have a brick as opposed to a gaming/apps system.

And my month to month budget cannot allow for the purchase of another console.

So whatever it is thats glitching my system. I hope it ends soon and w/o bricking the BEST console I have had my hand (no S for 1 is all I can use) on since the Sega Genesis. (My opinion)

 

My Xbox One has been totally problem free so far. Only had to do one hard reset in six months and that was due to a preview issue.

My guess is the OP is using or has been using a surge protector or a faulty power strip. hard resets are not down to a buggy Xbox One OS because there are no major flaws with the OS.

Yes, 360 Slim. Gamer pictures/themes that I find for free I am dl and using now that I have the HDD space to save them. The hunt for FREE continues, and I am only on the T's for on demand, with a whole slew of Arcade to go through.

Who knew that playing Dress up my 360/Profile could be so time consumming. (Wipes sweet)

I sure that you are well versed in Xbox trouble shooting. Have you tried clearing your cache?

I like the matte S model over the shiny version. My personal favorite still has to be the original Elite Xbox 360.

 

Yes, via XBCS we cleared the cache 3 times. It was then that I learned how to do a HR on the slim. Power off, unplug, hold down Power button for 30 seconds, and wait 5 minutes B4 replugging it.

Mine is the 4GB model that was a gift some years back, Not sure as to what finish that is.

I then budgeted for the 250GB internal and little did I know that the HDD had 2B official Microsoft licened in order to play Halo CE. and other Original Xbox on - But you live and you learn. Often the hard way. But then again. lessons learned the hard way
WILL stick with you no matter what.

 

Ouch, no kidding. That is brutal. I wonder what in the heck you are experiencing then? Hopefully you figure it out and then can relay the solution to any others that may experience this issue.
