Xbox 360 kinetic 4gb stolen from [Mod removed] on Dec 12

Hi,

My Xbox 360 kinetic 4gb stolen [Mod removed]. Unfortunately, Microsoft do not have a mechanism to deactivate stolen consoles remotely. This would have discouraged thefts.

I have port Forwarded the Ports suggested for xbox live and I have Problems like a guy in the Netgear Forums:

Port 53 and Port 80 are forwarded to the xbox. As soon as I enable it - things like this happens:

I have disabled port 53 and port 80. My xbox runs normal and my NAT is open. So why is port 80 and port 53 needed?

Is it possible that the Ddos "hackers" use the xboxes in the live network over these ports for Ddos?

My xbox was stolen on 10-13-11. It was a 360 pro the S/N is [mod removed]. Please disable it if it goes online.

I'm assuming you mean deactivating your account since there's really nothing else worth deactivating on the system. You can take measures to prevent it being used by other parties. Change passwords, change emails, increase privacy settings. Contacting Xbox
support would seemingly be a good idea as they can possibly provide you with more options.

 

No, he means deactivating the console. If a remote signal could be sent to the console making it not function, it would become a brick. He's saying if thieves knew that a stolen xbox would be unusable, they'd not bother stealing it.

 

and that would be open to abuse in a big way, imagine if someone creates a program to do that themselves, little kids get it and move from ddos to nuking xbox's.

 

It's possible to do for the 360 just not on the One. But you have to be able to sign into the account so it's not something that can be abused really.
