    Xbox 360 Kinect Registers as Audio


    Hi! Lately, I purchased a xbox 360 kinect and adapter for VR to do full body tracking. It had worked for a while, but only with one software, Driver4VR. While trying to use it even as a camera, it only registers in devices as audio. I have the latest driver.
    What am I doing wrong? (Not very good with this kind of tech oof)

    Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with the Kinect mic not working.

    To help clarify the issue:

    • What console are you using?
    • Have you checked for a system update and Kinect update?

    The IR Blaster is in the Kinect itself, when you say "Xbox On" the Xbox turns on, and the IR codes that turn your TV, audio receiver etc. are emitted by the Kinect and turn on those devices

    As for your audio problem, can you not just use the optical cable for your audio and the HDMI for your picture? that's what I currently use on my 360 and it works great.

    Depending on what the outcome is, the support articles will always say "If that didn't work, try this __________" Please give those options a try. For kinect trouble, please see these support articles:

    Again, the support article will ALWAYS say "If that doesn't work, try this" rather it's a repair or something else.
