    Xbox 360 Kinect and Headset


    Hello all!

    I recently purchased a used kinect for my xbox 360. Long story short, the microphone on the kinect does not function. My question is, is there any way to use my headset as a sort of 3rd party microphone for the kinect? I have read about not being able to
    give voice commands through the headset due to cpu strain, but if the headset were acting as a microphone to the kinect, would it work?

    no voice control in headset mic

    We recently purchase a Kinect for the xbox 360 and now we can not get our wired headset to work, any suggestions? We have tried turning the Kinect off we have tried different headsets so we know it isn't the headset because nothing is working.

    So with an old XBOX 360 headset I will just have Game Audio and chatting goes through the Kinect? So what's the sense of an headset then? haha

    When I wait for one of those XBOX ONE headsets everything will work as it's supposed to be?

    Xbox 360 Kinect and Headset

    Are you sure your preferences are set to the Kinect?

    Press the guide button and go all the way to the right.

    Hit preferences and go to voice. The kinect voice options should be there.

    If that doesn't work, try this

    support.xbox.com/.../turn-kinect-features-on-or-off

    Unfortunately, when I say the microphone doesn't work, I mean that there was a bit of an accident that led it to be physically disabled. The issue is not with the software, it is with the hardware.

    But thanks for your help anyways!

    Unfortunately you will not be able to chat with your 360 friends because the Xbox One will not include a headset in the box as this has been replaced by the Kinect 2.0 and the old 360 headsets are not compatible with the new controller.

    If you headsets in its supposed to come out of the headset, if your not using the headset, it will come out of the TV, even if you turned kinect chat off (just like a 360 without kinect)

    No Headset Packaged With The Xbox One?

    I know the kinect has a built in mic. I'd rather have the headset though. They can't throw a cheap $20 rendition headset in there like the 360 headset?
