Xbox 360 keeps turning off by itself even after repair.

For some reason my 360 won't stay on for more than a few seconds to minutes at a time. It'll often switch from 1080p to 480p after a few self shutdowns making me have to reset these settings frequently. It'll sometimes work after 4 or so shutdowns but It's
not worth going through the hassle every time I want to play a game. It's not the power supply as I've tried using a brand new one from a friends 360 and I get the same thing (yes it's plugged directly into the wall.) So I sent my 360 in for repair and it
almost took a month to get it back (Sent Jan,11 received Today Feb,4). I'm disappointed to say I'm still having the same problem and it seems as if the Xbox service center just took a month to clean my 360 and send it back with no significant repairs. I've
been a huge Xbox fan/user for 10+ years and even picked up the One on launch but this kind of service is unacceptable. If someone can offer a solution it would be greatly appreciated. I've searched through the forums a bit and haven't found any solid solutions
to this well known problem.

xbox console turns on by itself

lately, no idea why, the xbox keeps turning on by itself, even after shutting it off again...any suggestions as to why this might be?

Xbox one keeps turning on by itself

like today I woke up and my Xbox one turns on by itself I turn it off a few hours later it turns on again. I disconnect my plug from the wall after turning off my Xbox one I don't know why It keeps turning on by itself I want this to stop but I don't
know how to stop it

Nine times out of ten when you send a console in for repair you actually get a completely different console back (saves on turn-around time). This sounds more like poor voltage on your end.

I figured out that it was flex cable that connects the power button sensor to the console. Upon disconnecting the flex cable all of the problems went away. The only small downside is until I order a new cable I have to use the controller to turn the console
on/off and eject games.

I too have just had a faulty xbox that magicly keeps turning itself off. Worked great for a few hours of gameplay out of the box, but now the problem has become so bad it turns off after a few seconds of being switched on.

I have noticed that the PSU seems pretty cheap and nasty compared to the 360 one, the IEC lead doesn't even fit that snug.

The only thing that has happened to me is that the Xbox for some strange reason but after connecting and disconnecting it

If the Xbox is an X or S the side vents may be clogged with dust.

While its powered OFF to cool it, get a vacuum cleaner without attachment and vacuum both sides of the console, which will allow airflow again.

With a black console you will see how much dust accumulation there is as you clean those little holes.
