Xbox 360 keeps restarting!

I have an xbox 360 slim and when I turn it on it gets to the home page screen then after a few seconds restarts. This goes on in an endless loop until I turn the console off. Can anyone advise what the problem might be Thanks

Xbox 360 keeps restarting

My Xbox keeps resetting itself. It happens far more often when I am connected to Live, however. When I am connected to live it restarts within a few seconds of turning it on. If I am not connected to live I can play a game for a few minutes before it resets.
The light on the power brick is green and the light on the upper left quadrant on the xbox is also green. My xbox is a newer slim version. I have tried plugging it into a different outlet but that did not fix my problem. Is there anything else I should try?

 

It could be an issue with the hard drive. If you have a storage device attached can you please remove it and see if the issue persists.

Sounds like your xbox is overheating. Do you get a red ring or anything with it? I suggest calling 1-800-4MYXBOX and speaking with hardware to get it fixed before you get the red ring of death. Or try online

No red ring. Box had not been used for a couple of weeks. This problem started right away - box hasn't been on long enough to overheat.

An overheating issue doesn't have to be noticeable. If your console is shutting down right away there is an internal issue that should get fixed.
