Xbox 360 Keeps Freezing. Please Help.

I have had my Xbox 360 Elite for about 3 years. It has been going downhill lately though. I have not been using it as much since I got a computer but I still use the Xbox maybe once or twice every 1-2 weeks. All of a sudden it starts freezing when I load
up Minecraft. Just on the main menu. It also freezes in many other spots most of the time just randomly. I cleared the cache and cleaned my Minecraft disc because I actually use Minecraft the most. No luck. It also does not work when I try to update Minecraft.
I have a world that I have been working on since I got my Xbox and don't want to lose it. I have a feeling that within the next week or two it is going to RRoD. I have never experienced one of those and I was wondering if anyone has some tips to help me. If
it does RRoD I don't want to use towels or take it apart. I just need some help please. It has ventilation but is right next to my Wii U. Should I move it? I just really want some help. We are planning on getting it looked at because I dont want to lose my
xbox with all of my progress on everything. Should I back up my stuff? I just need some help. Thanks. -Emily

Xbox keeps on freezing

My xbox 360 250GB Final fantasy VII edition (if it matters) keeps on freezing. it's not cold or loud, it just freezes during gameplay several times, help please!

Try moving your console away from electronics and check your power supply to see if it has space to vent. As well as your console.

Worst case scenario, you may have to replace your old Xbox 360 with a newer Xbox 360 S or E model as they were rebuilt to handle ventilation and heat since the older Xbox 360s.

If you're worried about your Minecraft save, I'd recommend moving your saves to an USB flash drive if possible. This link would explain about moving and copying your saves and profile:

Sorry to hear it. Most times a freezing console is due to a failing hard drive. Try removing your drive and see if you experience the same issue. If it doesn't happen again then you'll need to purchase a new drive for it.

If the issue does continue even after removing the hard drive then the console is probably failing on you and would need to be replaced. Unfortunately repairs are no longer offered for the older FAT consoles.

As for your saves, you can either do as stated above and move them to a USB drive or store them on the Cloud for easy access on another console.
