Xbox 360 Joystick problems (related to rechargeable battery pack?)

So I bought this battery charging dock with batteries off ebay, they are 4800mAh Ni MH battery packs. I got it so I could save batteries, and cost. When I use my regular battery pack, the controller is flawless. When I use the battery pack, the joysticks
stop working. Both packs are at full charge, says the xbox anyway. Anyone else experience this? Maybe the battery packs aren't for this model? (I got the 360 for christmas from a friend, the controller is a call of duty based one I think.)

Also, I did try to search the Internet first, couldn't find anything on this.

Do you have to use the Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack or can you just use a regular recharger and regular rechargeable batteries?

This behavior can occur if one or more of the following conditions are true:

. The battery has reached the charge limit.

. There may be an issue with the charge cable.

. There may be an issue with the battery.

Things to try:

1. Determine the part of the recharging system that may be causing the issue.

Controller

Try AA batteries or try a different Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack in the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller to verify that there is nothing wrong with the controller. If the controller works with different batteries, the controller is not causing the issue.

Charge cable

Try a different Xbox 360 Play and Charge cable to charge the battery. If the battery charges correctly with a different charge cable, the original charge cable is faulty.

Rechargeable battery

a. Use a cotton swab and some alcohol to clean the four gold contacts on the Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack and on the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller.

b. Try a different Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack with the charge cable. If the second battery charges correctly, the original battery is faulty.

What brand of battery pack/charging dock are you using? Was the package brand new?

If you can share a few more details, it can help narrow down possible solutions.

After some checking, I think it may be either the charge station, the batteries, or both.

I checked my Microsoft Charge kit against the image of the generic one you purchased. First thing I noticed is the output voltage is different. Microsoft's outputs 3.4V to charge the batteries. The generic outputs a much lower amount.

You'll need a voltmeter to narrow it all down. Charge one of the batteries in the charge kit, and the other in the controller. After they are fully charged, check to see if they match the charge of your regular battery pack.

If they don't match, then charge station isn't outputting enough to charge the batteries properly. If that is the case, you'll need to work with the seller on a refund as the product doesn't work properly.

Also wait a few hours and check all the batteries again to see if they are even holding a charge. They should not loose much charge just by sitting idle.

Isnt that the voltage output of the charger itself? Or would voltage be rated the same for battery and charger? I can understand if the voltage is too low it wont work, thats how technology is lol.. I dont even think returning it is worth it since shipping
is on me and it needs to go to China. I cant find any information about the output on the batteries anywhere, just the dock.

Is there a fairly cheap dock you recommend?

Edit: I tested all the batteries after charging all day. No difference unfortunately.

 

So I borrowed a friend's rechargeable battery and it works. It is definitely the generic battery. The seller and I are working out a refund. I'm hoping this is just a DOA occurrence, so I hope no one else wastes money.
