Xbox 360 Jasper Power Supply making huge noise.

If your light never turns red then I'd say it's safe. However, I would try to unplug your power adapter and keep it unplugged overnight to drain any power, then try plugging it in again.

The light is green. Sorry i did not specify what its doin. Its making noise like how do i describe. A loud humming noise. When you fittle with it it goes nuts with loud noises. Is this uncommon for these? Yes its an official one. The one that came with the
consol. Anyway the one i bought says FOR MICROSOFT XBOX 360 150W Jasper POWER SUPPLY BRICK AC ADAPTER. So this one is a unofficial one.

So how do i identify the consol as a jasper? settings or what? please tell me the steps? will it confuse the cosole plugging in this jasper one and ruin it b4 identifying as a jasper? Oh man sounds like i shoulda got one that did not say jasper. Should i
just send the jasper one back,and get a non jasper?

The power rating on a power supply is an indication of how much power it can supply, not an indication of how much power it will deliver.



Original XBOX 360 console power supplies are forward-compatible. The original 203w power supply can power the final generation of Jasper consoles.



Original XBOX 360 console power supplies and original 360 power input ports are also keyed to prevent incorrect insertion. You cannot physically connect incompatible power supplies and consoles. A 203w Xenon console power brick will attach to a Jasper console.
A 150w Jasper power brick will not attach to a Xenon console.

Actually yes you can. As the Jasper (the third and last version of the original 360) was a much lower power consumption than the previous two versions, it can be powered by any one of the three types of Xbox 360 power bricks.

The second version was the Falcon and the first was the Xenon.

Earlier versions of the 360 will not work with the later 360 power brick as they draw too much current.

PSU - power supply unit

A Jasper 12.1A PSU will power a Jasper only

A Falcon 14.2A PSU will power Jasper and Falcon

A Xenon 16.5A PSU will power Jasper, Falcon and Xenon
