Xbox 360 Jasper or slim?

Ok techy peeps, question for you. My trusty falcon xbox 360 is starting to freeze more frequently now, so am looking to replace. Not in the market for an xbox one or ps4 yet, so do I buy a preowned xbox 360 slim from Game for £120 or a refurbished Jasper
fat xbox off eBay for £70. I'm learning towards the preowned slim as it comes with a 12 month warranty, however the Jasper is tempting as had fan upgrade and new thermal paste, etc. Opinions?

My question is that which type of hdmi does it support? HDMI 1.2, 1.3, or 1.4?

Disk read error Xbox 360 Slim

Hi, I'm having a problem with my Xbox 360 slim and the game ace combat **** horizon. The game in question works on an older Jasper machine but gives a disk read error on my xbox 360 slim? Is there a problem with the Slim since the game works on an older
Jasper machine or is it simply a case of the slim drive is more sensitive?

 

I would say go for the slim, costs more but worth it to be covered by the 12 months warranty should anything go wrong

 

Yeah, the warranty is definitely a big plus point. There are other factors in the slims favour as well such as bigger HD and dedicated optical audio port. I currently use an optical adapter on my fat 360 and the fit is very loose.

 

Go with the slim, I would possibly point you to buying a new "e" if you don't need the optical port, I bought my new 250gb with forza horizon and halo 4 for £150 new from game.

 

I did look at the e, but the lack of optical port is a bit of a deal breaker as I ideally need to connect my 360 to my home cinema system. Do they still sell new S versions or have they been phased out by the e?

 

To buy them new you can only get the e, but second hand you can still get the slim, If you want a slim new try amazon.

 

You can still find the odd new 360S knocking around, there are a few on Ebay (UK) at the moment. Earlier in the year I managed to get hold of a three month old fully boxed 250gb 360S for £90 as a spare console . I collected from the seller so I could try
it first to make sure it was not a banned console.

The console I use at the moment is a Jasper which I bought new nearly five years ago and still works perfectly. The advantage of the S model is that they are a lot quieter than the previous model.
