    I'm planning on gettig rid of my old Xbox 360. I want to backup all my content, and I have a USB drive to do it. An hour ago I powered on the console, and i copied some stuff over, realised I forgot some stuff, so I went back to the console, and tried to
    turn it on, but now it doesn't display video and the controller won't connect.

    I've researched some stuff, and pressing/holding Y and RT together does nothing. No one used or switch the input on the tv since I used it. And like I said it was working just fine an hour ago.

    I disconnected the USB drive before I powered off the xbox last time, so there woulnd't be any reason the xbox would be looking for the drive, right?

    Yeah, it sounds like it's had a lot of use over the 3 years & it's on the way out etc.. The only other likely problems are; The Power Supply or the Hard Disk Drive failing & to be honest, I would just upgrade, to a new Xbox 360 Slim Elite 250GB & transfer
    all the data off the 3 year old HDD, to the new 250GB HDD..

    Then maybe it is. I would recommend calling 18004MyXbox before relying on a friends information about your warranty though.

    Cache cleared, Xbox profile downloaded, it seems to have sped up the detecting of the disks slightly but not much, im guessing its on its was out :(
