    I would like to buy a really good head set and wondering which one to buy. It would appear £40 is the going rate for a good headset. Would really appreciate any help?

    XBOX 360 Headset

    For that price you're aiming for low-end of the spectrum, so you won't get anything great. However, there's some good headsets to be found at that price-range. Turtle Beach's Recon 50X retails for about £30 and is a solid little set for the cash. They've
    also put out a reskinned version in a Star Wars X-Wing pilot them, which I actually just had the chance to test out and review. I'd say build quality and comfort is okay, sound quality is reasonable and mic is acceptable if a tad fuzzy. The 50X should be about
    the same.

    Sennheiser make some good stuff in the price range, although the balance gears them a bit more toward music, but they still perform pretty well for games.

    I believe for about £10 you can get hold of Siberia V2s, which have a good reputation. I've not had a chance to test them yet, but I do have a set of the new Siberia 200s coming in next week. Point is, I can't comment on their quality, but a lot of people
    seem to swear by them in that price range.

    If you're willing to put aside some extra there's a set of brand new Astro A30s with a Mixamp on Ebay for £89.99 at the moment. Another £20 on top of that would get you the Astro A40s, which would be a massive step up.

    Turn off and disconnect all controllers from the Xbox 360 and disconnect the wireless headsets from the controllers.

    Connect the wireless headset to the Xbox 360 using the USB cable. Turn on the wireless headset.

    Sync the headset to quadrant 1 by pressing the "Connect" button on the on the Xbox 360. Then press the "Connect" button on the wireless headset for two seconds. Do not continue to press the "Connect" button on the wireless headset, as this will change the
    quadrant to which it is connected. If the headset now works without the controllers attached, the problem must be with one of your controllers. If the headset still does not work, then the problem is with the headset.

    The PDP controller you mentioned, specifically the PDP Wired Controller for Xbox One and Windows, is not compatible with the Xbox 360.

    As for headsets, the Xbox 360 has its own proprietary headset port, so you'll need to use a headset that's specifically designed for the Xbox 360. Microsoft's official headset for the Xbox 360 is the Xbox 360 Headset, which plugs directly into the controller. Other third-party options are available as well, such as the Turtle Beach Ear Force X12 or the Tritton AX 180.

    Keep in mind that if you're using a wireless controller, you'll need a wired headset or an additional wireless adapter to connect your wireless headset to your controller.
