Xbox 360 headset - microphone not working

Hi,

I have a problem with xbox 360 headset. In a Live group chat I can hear my friends, but I can't talk to them (they don't hear me). When I look on the icon of speaker in Party screen, mine reacts only with plugging/unplugging headset and muting/unmuting the
mic (these three lines appear next to the speaker). When I talk to the mic, it won't work. I have checked the privacy & parental control settings, I have checked different controllers, different consoles, different profiles and even other "regular" headsets
with 2,5mm jack adapter. I can't believe that my headset is broken, because it's brand new. As you can see I've checked as many solutions as I could come up with. Do you have any ideas, what could it be?

Microsoft Xbox One Chat Headset Microphone Stops Working

Hello,

This summer we have had 3 Microsoft Xbox One chat headset microphones stop working and 1 Microsoft Xbox One Stereo headset microphone stop working.

I have tried multiple Xbox One controllers and separate Xbox One console to verify the microphone no longer works.

Is there some known issue of how these headsets need to be plugged in or unplugged from the controller that could be zapping the microphone? Do we have to have the controller turned on or off before inserting the plug into the controller?

This just seems ridiculous that we keep loosing the microphone capability of these headsets.

Hi, thanks for feedback. Unfortunately I've gone through all of those tips before posting and none of them work. That is why I came here and wanted to get some more advice or ideas on how can I get my mic to work properly...

 

Also, as for this tip:

"Other players cannot hear you

Make sure that the volume level is set correctly and that the volume is not muted in the Personal Settings area. To do this, follow these steps:

Press the Xbox Guide button on the Xbox 360 controller.

Scroll right to Settings.

Select Preferences.

Select Voice.

Make sure that the Mute option is not selected. To turn off the Mute option, select Mute, and then press the A button.

Increase the volume. To do this, select the volume bar, and then press the D-pad or the left stick."

I don't have this option "Mute" under the Voice menu...

 

Any ideas on how to make my headset working properly?

 

Same problem here. Tried all the aforementioned solutions-no luck. Also no mute option for me in preferences. What's going on?

 

Also worth noting: I have 3 mics and 3 headsets. No combination of any of them is giving me any other results... There's no way all the mics and/or all the controllers are suddenly on the fritz
