Xbox 360 Headset Fault? (I haven't even got my headset plugged in)

So I don't have my wireless or wired headset currently connected to either my xbox/controller or my account yet it says that I have one plugged in? and when I try to connect my headset it puts it as second player? how do I stop this from happening? it was
happening all last night and its still like it this morning?! I can't even hear any other players in the game because its going through a 'headset' that isn't even there! so i've had to put the settings to go through my xbox!

Any help would be very much apreciated! thankyou.

Most sound comes from right side on my Xbox one stereo headset

I just got an xbox one stereo headset and haven't even used it on my Xbox yet but I plugged it into my iphone to listen to music and most of the sound was coming out of the Right earpiece. is this a known problem when using the headset with iPhone? Is my
headset broken?

Xbox one headset won't work

I have the standard headset and I can't get it to work. I updated my controller but I didn't have the headset plugged in when I did it.. now I can't update the controller anymore.. should the headset work even though I didnt have the headset plugged in when
I updated it? How can I re-update my controller? ugh this is so frustrating. I haven't found any help from xbox trouble shooting so Im trying the forums.

Sorry to hear about the issue. If you haven't already, try power cycling Xbox 360 console and check to see if the issue continues to occur.
You can also try connecting a different controller if possible, to see if the issue is related to the controller.

The DSS should work with any headset for the 360, just plug it in as you would a turtle beach, you have the in-line controller from the headset plug into the green connector then plug the 3.5 jack into the DSS, and for xbox chat you would just connect the
3.5 to 2.5 jack from the in-line headset control to the xbox pad.

I haven't actually seen the setup with other headsets but it should work the same, turtle beach says you can use any headset with the DSS.

I bought an Afterglow wireless headset for £60 from asda and it fits xbox 360 so I went online and got instructions on how to rewire the plug on the end, I now have a wireless headset for my xbox one

I have been through all the steps to rectify (rebooting, battery, updates etc) but it is still happening to all controllers. Works fine for 30 to 40 mins then starts disconnecting, even with the charging cable plugged in.

Any suggestions?

Is this happening when you have a headset plugged into it or still disconnecting even without the headset?

I was asking because I had the same problem but only with a headset plugged into the controller. I was using a Lucid 25 headset which runs strictly off the controller. I got a optical headset and now only my chat runs through the controller and the game
sound is wireless and haven't had any issues since. I'm guessing the headset was pulling to much amperage from the controller. Don't know if it is the same problem you were having. It did do it with all 3 controllers I had.

I hope so, the Xbox 360 wireless headset from microsoft was the best first party headset I used on the 360, the only thing I would hope they change is the ability to use the headset while its charging, or even charge it off the controller while its plugged
