Xbox 360 Headphones/Mic

Can anyone recommend a decent pair of headphones/mic for my son to use on his xbox? Not too expensive. The last pair he had keeps disconnecting him from xbox live.

Do Xbox 360 Gaming Headphones Play Game Sounds?

So I had an Xbox 360 headset, the one with a Mic and one headphone. A few days ago, the Mic kept cutting out and it was time to replace it with something else. And so I thought, how about Full Over-Ear Gaming headphones with a built-In Mic that were
made for Xbox 360? So I went on Amazon and EBay and looked for some. Then I did some research on some forums and found out that the port on the controller is for Voice Communications ONLY. So basically, I need a separate Mic for my controller and headphones
for game sounds directly plugged into the TV. in this case, buying headphones with a mic would be a waste because I would only be able to hear voice chat in them and game sounds would be muffled. Then I was thinking, "Why would they sell Pro Xbox 360 gaming
headphones if they only play voice chat?" then I looked and found there are other little ports next to the one in the middle on the Xbox 360 controller and thought maybe the headphones had something to do with that. So my question is: Can I get Full gaming
headphones with a Mic and hear both Voices AND game sounds in them? Please help me as I can't afford to buy expensive headphones only to have them not work correctly.

 

PC headphones and mic audio and Xbox 360

So what I would REALLY like to do is have game audio and party chat audio come through my headphone speakers, then use the mic on my headphones as an Xbox mic to talk over a party with my friends. I have Xbox chat headphones with one earphone with chat audio,
and my PC headphones on top of that to hear game audio. The setup is very uncomfortable and I just want to use my PC headphones like I would a PC, but on the Xbox 360. If you have any answers that be great.

 

I use the Turtle Beach X12, excellent headset for the money, £32 on Amazon.

And you can use them on a PC too.

Am I missing something but how can headsets disconnect you from xbox live?

On Xbox Support it states that Third-party wireless headsets can cause active interference because they broadcast on the same frequency as wireless routers. Since my son has stopped using it he's had no more problems. So I'm in need of a decent set that
won't cause the same problem.

 

I ust third party wireless TB headset for game sound and have never been disconected from Live.

 

The X12 are a wired headset, so no interference whatsoever.
