    xbox 360 HDD


    My 320G HDD does not play my original xbox game "Cars". The HDD is stamped "xbox 360" on the face. It also says "to be used with xbxox 360" on the back side. My question is will these aftermarket HDD run the original games? If not, maybe I can still use
    it to run other games? Another question, do I need an HDD to run current games?

    Xbox 360 was originaly sold with a 20 GB HDD or without HDD.

    To take an example FFXI was at launch 11GB.

    I took several years to use an external HDD and only Microsoft/Xbox HDD were compatible on Xbox 360,before that.

    100 GB with Xbox 360 Elite.

    250 GB with Xbox 360 slim.

    If by aftermarket you mean a third-party hard drive, that could be a reason why you can't play "Cars". Original Xbox games work if you have an official Xbox 360 Hard Drive.

    A HDD may be required to run some games out today, but for other games, I believe the only concession is not being able to save game progress.

    The answer is depend of somethings to clarify better your question...

    IF your game is for a original Xbox game that depends from your model..., because some models of 360 (the slim models to resume) has some compability problems whif microsoft toll to make xbox original games works, to simplify a problem of hardware, the bad
    news is has no solution because MS end the support to xbox orginals games in 2010.

    If you talk about a old game lauched in 360 cal cars the problem maybe is your hd, because some fake hd or thirds hd has the "mania" to loose data.

    To confirm if your hd and cable is original you have to look the signals like

    Microsoft mark in releve in product

    the 3d Seal in product

    And the box has the 360 logo!!!

    The only othe way to that is a mistake of out of serch cause, don´t worry that happens in the best familys, one friend has that mistake too.

    You buy a 360 Slim (the black small one ) and tryed to use the hd for fat 360 (the flat and tall one and has 360 HDD in one face...

    The slim model only acept HDD for same model = silm acepts slim HDD, Fat acepts fats HDD.

    Has to be an actual 360 HDD. There's a 2GB partition on the 360 HDD that the XBOX emulator expects to be there for XBOX game caching.

    The version of the XBOX 360 that I have is an XBOX 360 Elite from 2010 that has the 120GB HDD on the outside and come to find out the HDD is at the end of its lifespan and I need a new XBOX 360 as it is bcuz the HDD for my current version of the 360 is not
    sold in stores brand new anymore.

    Hi. To do that on Xbox 360, go to your cloud saves and copy the game save to your HDD for Xbox 360. Remember, you have to play with your Xbox 360 HDD attached and with the game saves you have copied from your cloud to your HDD.

    As long as you use an official Xbox 360 S hdd in any model Xbox 360 S you are OK. It's possible that your original post was misinterpreted as promoting the use of an Xbox 360 "Classic" hdd in an S model, which a) would not be possible unless you were to
    mod the hdd module and b) if you DID mod a Classic hdd to fit in an S console you would be in breach of the TOU.



    I don't believe anyone is suggesting that using an official, unmodded, un-tampered with Xbox 360 S hdd in the hdd slot of a Xbox 360 S 4GB model would be in any way breaching the TOU.
