Xbox 360 Hard drive not recognized

Hi

So my Xbox 360 was working fine and so was the 60 GB HDD, then I took out the HDD to plug it in to my PC(via SATA to USB) to extract the code for one of my games, and since then the console is not recognizing it when I plug it back in. At first I thought
that I screwed something up(the obvious conclusion) but when I view the filesystem tree in Horizon or Xplorer360, everything is there and exactly how it should be. The console won't recognize any of my other SATA HDDs when I plug them in as well(although that
could be to Microsoft's third party limitations). I took apart the console and reconnected all of the SATA/power connections, still no luck. Just to clarify, the console still works fine, just none of my games are there and when i go to the storage tab, the
only items listed are the integrated 4GB storage unit and cloud saved games, regardless of whether or not my 60GB HDD is connected.

The only mistake that i can think I made is when I let Windows initialize the HDD as gpt, then converted it to mbr later when i found out that it wasn't working. However even after the partition table initialization all of my files are still there.

I may have just screwed it up myself on this one and there's nothing that can be done, but I appreciate any help.

Using Portable Hard Drive, Not Showing

I connected my 1 TB portable hard drive to the xbox 360 via the USB port and it is not recognized. Is there something I am doing wrong?? Why won't the 360 recognize the hard drive??? Do I need some special software on the hard drive???

 

Xbox 360 Hard Drive with Titanfall problem

We have an Xbox 360. We have a 120 GB HDD Hard Drive connected via transfer cable. The Xbox recognizes the hard drive and will let us move stuff and store stuff on it. However, when we try to play Titanfall, which requires a hard drive, it does not recognize
that there is a hard drive connected to the console. Anyone have suggestions for getting the game to recognize the hard drive?

 

Xbox hard drives are not meant to be read by a PC and swapped back. Using unauthorized software to view the files on a PC is a violation of the terms of service.

 

As Smwutches said, the drive was not meant to be mounted on a PC, so you've basically flipped a bit in the boot record and it's acting as expected.

Thanks for reaching out to us with this issue. You may just simply need to reformat your external drive again to be compatible with your 360.n Sometimes when you plug them into a computer, it'll reformat the HD again, so you just may need to reformat it
to FAT32, then try to reconfigure it for your 360. Check out this support article entitledXbox 360 USB flash drive
FAQ that may prove to have some helpful information (even though it says its for just flash drives, its for any external device).

That won't reset a 360 hard drive back to what it once was. It will no longer have the system files required of an Xbox hard drive.

 

My guess is that when you connected it to the PC it messed with the 360 file format. The drive will have to be reformatted to work on the 360. The downside is that the data will probably be erased.

 

Ok. I think i can find a workaround to save my games and i will reformat as XFAT(yes xfat not exfat )
