    Xbox 360 Hard Drive Issues


    I have 3 360s, 2 original ones (a Xenon and a Falcon), and 1 Slim. I took the 20 GB Hard Drive from the Xenon and used it in an old laptop for running Windows. Now I want to use it with the Xbox again. I have tried it on both the Slim and the white consoles,
    but nothing shows up in the storage menu. I have an external hard drive enclosure so I can format it. If it helps, it is a 20 gb Seagate ST920217AS, Thanks!

    Shut down the console completely then take out the hard drive. power the console back on then put the hard drive back in.

    Sorry, but no one here will be able to help. The Xbox hard drives are not meant to be used that way and then switched back, so doing do is a violation of the terms of service and cannot be discussed on the forums.

    Hey BioZombie,

    Is this an official Xbox 360 hard drive you are using? Not a 3rd party accessory? It's possible there may be an issue with your hard drive.

    Are you able to try a different Xbox 360 hard drive? A friends perhaps? This will help determine where the issue is.

    Original Xbox games need a hard drive, It's not storage space this is the issue here. Original Xbox games load on the 360 via a software emulator, this emulator is only available via an Xbox 360 hard drive. Don't fall for the mistake of buying a cheap
    hard drive from eBay or similar, these drives are fake and are missing the emulation software. The hard drive must be an official one.
