XBOX 360 Hard Drive issue

Hello,

Last week I bought XBOX 360 250 GB hard drive. When I put it into console it won't be avaible in Settings. I try to reconnect it and done everything I found in Microsoft support pages. I believe that it is stil on quarantee. How can I send it to be repaired?
I cannot add it to my devices to my devices in
https://myservice.xbox.com because serial number is too long. What should I do now to make it work?

Is this an official Xbox 360 hard drive you are using? Not a 3rd party accessory? It's possible there may be an issue with your hard drive.

Are you able to try a different Xbox 360 hard drive? A friends perhaps? This will help determine where the issue is.

support.xbox.com/.../add-remove-hard-drive. If this does not resolve the issue, then please try clearing your console's cache (support.xbox.com/.../clear-system-cache)
and redownload your profile. If the issue still persists, then unfortunately your hard drive would need to be replaced. How long ago did you purchase it exactly? Hard drives have a 90 day warranty (support.xbox.com/.../xbox-360-warranty).

So from my understanding, you bought a HDD for your Xbox and it's not being detected? Where did you buy it? Chances are it may be a fake if you got it off of eBay for example.

 

I bought it from a friend who bought it from another one, so I cannot be sure if it is original. I try to put serial number in
https://myservice.xbox.com but it has 14 digits, so it is 2 digits too long (the number below barcode on hdd). I've asked in electronical service and they said that the HDD looks like original one.

 

Only thing I can suggest is to make sure that you're putting in the right number. Although if you bought it off of a friend, I doubt it has any warranty left on it.
