Seems like quite a coincidence that the live update crashed my drive just as the xbox one has a pricedrop. We have the ability to play games locally but can not install the new update. the tech on the phone told me it was a corrupted internal flash drive
and needed repair. I we online went through the repair process, had my card billed and now have no record of it in my xbox account. Some scam you guys are pulling here. The tech on the phone could careless and said for another 99 dollar charge he could set
up the repair ticket . Untill the bank has reversed the first xbox repair charge i will not give another. Seems funny xbox cant track cc payments for verification.

never do buisness with xbox again.

360s internal drive failure after newest live update. coinsides with the xbox one pricedrop

Newest live update will not instal. Was advised of internal flash drive failure. seems funny that i can play games locally but not connect to live. Aslo seems funny that this crash comes just as the price drop happens. I paid for repair through live.xbox,
now xbox has no record of my payment and advises me to contact my bank to dispute the charges. What is going on here. I have been charged 95.33 for repair and expidited shipping and now have to dispute this charge only to have the same one put back in order
to get my 360 repaired. I called to place the order, they said to do it online and save 20 dollars. online has lost my order but i have been charged. In the end this ordeal has cost me lots of time on the phone and computerand the bank only to still have the
original issue and have to start this fiasco all over.
Xbox has lost my trust and is really close to losing my loyalty also.

Moving Games to an external hard drive post-spring 2017 update

So since the new update, I seem to have lost the ability to move games from my Xbox one to my external hard drive, the option just isn't there, Can anyone help me?

Hi Sgt Stadinko,

It is unlikely that 1 person has been isolated from the rest of the Xbox Live Community and had their hard drive broken just to gain 1 Xbox One sale, its probably coincidental. If the hard drive was at fault then your local saves would not work so you would
find it difficult to play games, even locally.

If you can prove that payment left your account for Microsoft then there should be no reason as to why the repair cannot be handled and no further charges should occur.

I suggest that you locate the number for your Xbox Region here:
forums.xbox.com/.../167791.aspx and then speak with an Xbox Support agent who should be able to advise you further.

Microsoft Xbox Hardware Support said that nothing could be done and that i should contact the bank to dispute the charges. Besides I am not the only one with this issue, I may be the most recent to call it out in the forum. The support i have recived at
1800 4my xbox has been terrible . The simple fact that microsoft can not tract my cc number used in the transaction is simply boggling. I have open case numbers and a call is suppost to be returned within the next 12 days. 12 DAYS!!!! this is 3 days after
the charge and repair ticket was created, Still I have no answer to where this carge went. POOR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE for a company pretending to be on the forefront

All certified Xbox 360 hard drives have the ability to play original Xbox games that are on the supported list, you do require your console to be connected to live to download an update for the game though. The error you are getting seems to suggest that
you either are not connected to live or you have a none certified hard drive.

If you have the 4Gb console then you will need to purchase a genuine Microsoft certified and I cannot stress how important it is to use the official hard drives to play any Xbox original games.

If you're connected to Xbox Live and play a game that has had an update after you have cleared the cache on your Xbox 360's Hard Drive, it will allow you to update your game again

System Link is the ability to play games between consoles over a local network without being connected to Live. To add to Elf's comment, many newer games (such as Battlefield 3/4, GTA V, and Halo 4) have portions of the game which use the hard drive to increase
performance, as the hard drive loads faster than the DVD drive. Games that require a hard drive specifically state it on the back of the box in the checklist of features.

The information support gave you is incorrect, the latest update has not removed the ability to play original Xbox games that were made backwards compatible. My original games work just fine.

To play original Xbox games, your console requires a hard drive. This hard drive must be an official Xbox 360 hard drive. If you have purchased your drive from an auction site such as eBay, or from a private seller on sites such as Amazon, the chances are
your hard drive is a fake unit.

You can not run original Xbox games on the new Slim console if it only has the 4GB of internal storage. These 4GB consoles require a hard drive, and like I stated earlier, it must be on official Xbox 360 hard drive.

A little too late for me.

I tried to update my account from the Xbox but after updating "successfully" I get the same issue you do.

I sign in as normal but FREEZES on loading my dashboard.

It is related to Live because I disconnected my Xbox from the internet and it's working fine.

It's not a hard drive failure because I saved MW2 to it and the game plays fine.
