    Xbox 360 Halo 3 live issue permissions error.


    Hello, I am getting this error which says: Matchmaking requires an Xbox live subscription with permission to play multi-player over live.

    I typically play on my Xbox one and recently loaded up the 360 to play H3. Im not receiving any errors on the Xbox one. Any help would be appreciated!

    Are you playing with the account you're posting with? If so, you're a Silver (Free) account, and you will need to purchase a Gold membership before playing online on Xbox LIVE.



    I would like to mention that if your Xbox 360 is new, you should have Xbox LIVE 1-Month Trials that will automatically activate when you make a new Xbox LIVE Account from the Dashboard. When you turn on the Xbox 360 and you are at the Dashboard, sign out
    of any profile you may be signed in on. Then make a new profile by pressing the
    Guide button, and press Create Profile. After you name the profile and choose a basic avatar, you will have the option to press
    Join Xbox LIVE. Press that and follow the directions on-screen. At some time while making your account, you should be prompted if you would like to use a 1-Month Gold Trial.

    Yes Vxegens is right you must make sure you gave an active Gold Membership in order to play online on halo 3 and any other online game.

    You need a gold subscription in order to play online. The One has the ability to share gold with all profiles on the console, so if someone else on the One has gold, that is why you are able to play online. The 360 does not have that ability so you would
    need your own subscription in order to play on the 360.
