xbox 360 guitar not working on my windows 10

I have 2 xbox 360 guitars wired (USB)... I plug in the USB and windows does detect them as 360 controllers, but not guitars. I then try the xbox companion app, and was presented with some error about not having any controllers on this computer. this all seemed strange since it was listed in device manager. i was able to use my guitar to move over to the "continue" option and hit the green button on my guitar to select the "continue" option, but the guitar no longer worked after that. the menu in rock band 4 rivals did not move, i was unable to select a song, it was as though my xbox 1 x was not receiving any information from windows 10 about which buttons i was pushing on my xbox 360 guitar. i guess it is also possible that windows is not seeing this as a guitar. what do i do ?

I have a VERY similar issue... i think you are talking about a wired 360 controller, but I am more specifically talking about a wired 360 guitar (controller). mine also is recognized by windows 10 as a 360 controller (not a guitar), and despite everything I do with them (i have 2)... it will not work on my xbox 1 x through windows 10 (and the xbox companion app built into windows 10). I was able to get my xbox 1 wired regular controller to work using windows 10. if you find an answer, please let me know, it will likely fix my issue as well, even though my issue is slightly different

No rock band accessories are in production and are pretty much sold out everywhere. You’re gonna have to turn to eBay or other places that sell second hand controllers

Since epic has purchased Harmonix, it is conceivable that there will be a PC version, as well as new runs of controllers coming, but that is hardly a guarantee.

using that link, i was unable to find any way to purchase the adapter... i also noticed in step 5 that it mentioned that this was for a wireless music controller..... for those who have eyesight problems MY GUITARS ARE NOT WIRELESS. as stated multiple times before... my guitars are wired and windows does recognize them as 360 controllers.
