Xbox 360 games won't play on Xbox one s

Hello, I have an xbox one s but wanna play my 360 games on it such as red dead redemption and left 4 dead 2. Both of these games should be backwards compatible (it says so on the list) but when I put them in to play them is says "this game isn't playable
here. For a list of xbox 360 games playable on Xbox one, go to xbox.com/backcompat. (0x8082000c). On the list of games it says these are playable. I have never been prompted with an update when i try to play them, and I don't think it's the games because theyes
work fine on my 360. How can I get them to play?

Why do I need to download a X360 game on my XOne, when I already have the disc?

I mean, I don't want to have to setup my Xbox 360 again to play some of these older games. Like the Original Xbox games work on my 360, but my 360 game discs won't work on my Xbox one, I have to download it which I cannot do, as not EVERYONE has unlimited
100mb/s internet plans.

Are either of these some sort of special editions or the regular releases? I had that issue with Red Dead too with a special edition version not recognizing so bought a regular version and it installed perfectly.

Yes, if you purchase the game from the Xbox 360 marketplace, you can play it on the Xbox 360, Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S.

As for what Hardcore Games said, you can still buy Xbox games for the Xbox 360, and play them on the Xbox 360, and if they are backward compatible, play them on the Xbox One & Xbox Series X|S.

Xbox 360's hardware won't be able to support Kinect features, multiplayer, and will have to feature less-good-looking graphics and smaller zoos/less animals.

Xbox One however since it has better hardware, WILL have Kinect, up to 4 in multiplayer, and the game just looks beautiful from Xbox One gameplay footages. Look them up on Youtube.

Zoo Tycoon is also exclusive to Xbox One so won't be on a PS console unless the game developers want to. Xbox is allowed to have exclusives just as PS has.

Xbox 360's hardware just won't be able to cope.... with all the features that will be available to Xbox One.

As an owner of an xbox one s I do play xbox 360 games with backwards compatibility. The simplest way to explain how it does this is this: the xbox one essentially opens up the xbox 360 software to be able to play the games that are backwards compatible.
