It does because it requires it even on a free game

You can readd payment options and secure your account from the website

Just add security options

I use the authenticator myself

And have 3 payment options on file

Security is upto you

Dont use the same email as any other service

Dont use the same password

Keep your password changed every 6months the very least

My password is mixed caps and numbers and not the same with any other services i use

Like 3mP1r3 RuLe2 is a good combination and yes thr system will not allow unlimited attempts

 

Millions of users use payment options on xbox

They probably told you to remove payment options till they secured your account

As most people arent told to remove their payment options

Good security practices is best for you

Forgot dont share your account even with your dog spot

And yes for now the payment option is required on the website

https://xbox.uservoice.com/. If you are going to link to other sites, you might want to do it right) as a suggestion, but I am asking a question here on the support forum as to why it is the case and if anyone has any work around. So far, no one has, but

I have this same problem but i have a way of payment in my account and i can't donwload it from the marketplace

Omg you can only get the game on the website with a payment option

User voice is the only area for feedback

You can only download via the website with a payment option as mentjoned by myself and others

If you want to provide feedback you need to use uservoice and maybe eventually

But you arent going ro get any content till them without the payment option

 

Fyi even without an payment option you cannot queue any 360 content without an actual console

The marketplace is setup that way and isnt even setup for the marketplace. 360 download fot xbox one yet

At no point has anyone attempted to answer the actual question I asked.

 

Nobody can answer your question "Why?" because Microsoft has not given a reason why the system works this way or whether it will ever be changed. So people on the forums can only confirm that it is the way it works, and there is no work-around.

 

Hey, guys! I can hop in here and confirm that it's just the way the system works. When we went from points to currency a couple years ago, the Xbox 360 items were not included in that update. It also affected the way you made purchases on the website for
free items. You will need some form of payment option that is not currency on your account to be able to make purchases off the website.
